The thirst project is a movement of high schools and college students that bring attention to others for clean water problems. The thirst project organization was born in summer 2007 in Uganda. The problem right now in some places is the contaminated water.Almost 1 billion people don't have access to clean water.4,100 children die everyday from diseases caused by contaminated water. It's a big issue in some countries that don't have access to clean water. If you think about its amazing what clean water can do.For example we have a transmitted disease in our eyelids and if you just clean your eyes with 3 tablespoons of water you can prevent that disease and some people can't even get 3 tablespoons of clean water because of where they live.
The solution to this problem is water.Donating money or any loose change to the thirst project can help make a difference for everyone to drink clean and safe water. The way I raised money is by finding loose change in my cough or in my room.A other way to raise money is by asking people for money and telling them why you need the money. .It cost about $7,800 in Uganda and $20,000 in Kenya to build a well for fresh clean water.to the community that don't have access to clean and safe water like us.One of the countries being helped by the organization is Swaziland.
The thirst project open my eyes to how life really is and how I view life differently as a result of knowing the difference that clean accessible water makes in someones life. Also how some people suffer from this problem and the diseases that comes with it. Just donating money can make a huge difference in someones life in the world and can stop this problem. I wonder to myself how it is to be in that situation and the thought of, I can die tomorrow and the feeling to have the diseases in my body and can't do anything about it but just wait for the disease to win and die.
